The London Borough of Camden has published a draft new Local Plan for public consultation, following on from our initial call for views last year.
The draft new Local Plan sets out the Councils vision for future development in Camden for the next 15 years and includes planning policies and site allocations to help achieve this.
It identifies how many new homes and jobs are needed to support Camden's population, and where and how they should be provided. The Local Plan also has an important role in shaping how Camden's places look and feel, promoting inclusion, reducing inequality, enhancing the environment, tackling climate change and securing sustainable neighbourhoods.
When finalised, the Local Plan will replace our current Local Plan (2017) and Site Allocations (2013) as the basis for planning decisions and future development in the borough.

What happens next?
The review of the Local Plan has to follow a statutory process. Once we have gathered views on the draft Plan we will produce an updated version of the Local Plan for further consultation later in 2024. We will then submit the Local Plan for a public examination by a Planning Inspector.
